At Kemper, a Commercial Casualty Adjuster - Represented is responsible for the investigation,evaluation, and negotiation of attorney represented bodily injury and uninsured motoristcommercial vehicle claims with varying degrees of complexity. This role requires advancedclaim handling skills for the interpretation of commercial vehicle policies. This positionnecessitates strong analytical abilities, core venue knowledge, attention to detail, and theability to operate independently and as part of a cohesive team.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct investigation of varying complexity, including policy language and limits, and bodily injury claims utilizing investigative tools, based on claims and state regulatoryguidelines and procedures established by the department.
Develop a comprehensive strategy to identify and resolve coverage, liability, injury, andproperty damage, efficiently and accurately.
Examine all provisions, endorsements and complex legal relationships of the claim policyand other records to verify applicable insurance coverage and make financial decisions within authority limits.
Develop and implement negotiation strategies when communicating settlement related information to insureds, claimants, attorneys, body shop personnel, medical providers, and other parties.
Attend depositions/mediation/arbitration/pre-trials/trials and all other legal
proceedings, when needed.
Conduct analyses of represented bodily injury claims. Research and interpret injury related statutory provisions and case law, examine points of impact and extent ofdamage relative to the injury claimed, access prior injury information, obtain properrelease documentation, obtain medical reports, and conduct detailed injury-specific research relating to the injury claimed, thoroughly document injury related treatmenthistory and develop a comprehensive settlement strategy.
Thoroughly document the progression of each claim and set bodily injury reserves ensuring an accurate and organized record.
Act as mentor and provide staff training.
Collaborate with various departments to efficiently move claims toward final resolution.

Performs other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of three years casualty claim experience in the auto insurance industry.

Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite products and web based applications.
Must obtain and maintain state required licensing, where applicable.
Initiative, sound judgement, and discretion


REQUIRED JOB SKILLS:
Comprehensive understanding of insurance policies and knowledge relevant state lawsand regulations governing auto insurance claims.
Time management skills ensuring deadlines are met for claim resolution.
Strong analytical skills to evaluate claim information, assess damages, and makeinformed decisions regarding liability and settlement amounts.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with variousstakeholders.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent negotiation skills for resolving disputes and reaching agreements
