Collins Aerospace is looking for a highly motivated Manufacturing Program Specialist to join the New Product Introduction (NPI) team, which is a shared service organization for Operations. This individual will support our Mission Critical Products - Eject Seating portfolio in Colorado Springs, CO.
The New Product Introduction team (NPI) works cross-functionally with Program, Engineering and Operations teams to achieve successful design and production while delivering exceptional quality standards. The NPI team is comprised of Operations Program Managers (OPM) and Manufacturing Production Specialists (MPS), which both work closely together to guide design and production over the entire lifecycle of the product to ensure product maturity milestones are established and achieved. The MPS will often act alongside the OPM in projects of significant size and scope and act autonomously in projects of smaller size and scope, while supporting a fast-paced environment requiring a high level of organization and strong communication skills.
This role will be performed ONSITE in our Collins Aerospace location in Colorado Springs, CO. This role is NOT eligible for relocation.
What You Will Do
  • Supports integrated Program Management Teams (PMT)
  • Manages and communicates material availability, resource planning, task completion, and quality performance
  • Manages and communicates implementation of change orders
  • May lead or participate in product transition planning and development activities prior Production Readiness Reviews
  • Ensures that all resources are in place to support the product transitions to standard manufacturing
  • Performs detailed planning of milestones and acts as Control Account Manager (CAM)
  • Collaborates with Production Control Support, Procurement Support, and Master Scheduling to ensure that material master data is accurate
  • Collaborates and Communicates with Program, Engineering, and Operations Manufacturing support
  • Arranges for and facilitates Knowledge Exchange meetings
  • Captures "lessons learned" for major programs
  • Supports the successful completion of MRL scoring and Production Readiness
  • Ensures that producibility reviews and testability reviews are held
  • Ensures applicable policies and procedures for delivery are followed
  • Ensures tactical transition activities are completed by the cross-functional teams including, but not limited to:
    • DFM/DFT reviews
    • BOM reviews
    • MRL Assessments
    • Work Instruction creation
    • Test Equipment checkout
    • Test Procedure creation
    • Takt time/Standard work definition
  • Acts as a liaison with practitioner level engineers and production team
  • Validates demand plans and delivery dates
  • Manages Product Schedules
  • Travel: Less than 1 trip per quarter

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Must have experience in manufacturing

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience leading and supporting early life product and process development cycles
  • SAP proficiency or similar ERP
  • Microsoft project
  • Lean manufacturing and process improvement experience
  • Familiarity with AS9145 (APQP)
  • Experience with Operations Finance

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
