We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to oversee the design and implementation of building projects, including preparing schematics, estimating costs, and writing specifications, while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and codes. This role will serve as a project manager, coordinate contractor activities, and contribute to the development of engineering standards and practices within the MEP discipline.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • MEP System Design and Documentation: Prepare, review, and coordinate detailed MEP schematics and drawings for residential and commercial projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Project Management: Assume the role of project manager for engineering projects within the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) discipline, overseeing the project team, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Development and Implementation of Standards: Develop and implement engineering standards and procedures across the department, fostering consistency and efficiency in project execution.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging engineering technologies and practices, researching and implementing improvements to enhance project outcomes and efficiency.
  • Contribution to Team Efforts: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams by contributing expertise to achieve project goals, supporting colleagues, and undertaking related tasks as necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for improvement in engineering processes, practices, and project execution, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall performance and client satisfaction.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience designing HVAC, Plumbing, & Hydronic Systems for Large, Custom Residential or Commercial Projects
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Montana required
  • Experience as a Project Manager preferred
  • Familiarity with International Mechanical Code, ASHRAE & All Relevant HVAC Codes & Standards
  • Familiarity with Uniform Plumbing Code, ASPE Standards, & All relevant Plumbing Codes & Standards
  • Team oriented individual that excels in a flexible and changing environment
  • Software Experience Preferred: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Heating/Cooling Load Calculation Software, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Excel
