Job description

Apprentice Obligations:

  • Must be at least 17 years of age to apply
  • Completes Application for Employment through company website
  • Completes interview process with Carrico Implement management team members(s)
  • Signs and submits Apprenticeship Program Agreement including Co-Borrow signature and Federal Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) Form
  • Completes enrollment process for education curriculum through Fort Hays Tech North Central including required General Education course
  • Completes General Education courses outside of RTI and scheduled work hours to allow more hours for OJT
  • Reports on time for OJT on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. during the educational year as well as any other OJT scheduled hours
  • Works thru Competency Structure defined by dealership
  • Maintain good standing in the Program with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above
  • Responsible for all fees and resources outside of tuition paid by Carrico Implement Company, Inc.
  • Completes a five-year full-time work commitment upon completion of Apprenticeship Program
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with the guidelines and expectations set forth in the Carrico Implement Employee Policy & Procedures Manual

Dealership Obligations:

  • Carrico Implement will provide the cost of tuition only (including required general education courses) in the form of payment directly to the educational institution
  • Carrico Implement will provide paid on-the-job training (OJT) with the hourly rate based on competency completion
  • Carrico Implement will provide an Apprentice to Journeyworker ratio of no less than 1 Apprentice to 1 Journeyworker

OJT Responsibilities:

  1. Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  2. Adheres to assigned work schedule
  3. Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments including timecards and Work Orders
  4. Become familiar with usage of Service Advisor, PartsAdvisor and CCMS systems
  5. Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat, safe and orderly fashion
  6. Account for all time and material used in performing assigned duties
  7. Develop skills based on Competency Structure while following instruction of Journeyworker
  8. Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
  9. Maintains a high level of personal hygiene and neat appearance
  10. Maintains a high level of customer service, conducting self in a manner befitting the image of the company.
  11. Keeps a positive attitude throughout each day and cooperates with all co-workers, vendors and customers to ensure a productive work environment, working to develop a sense of “team” among all departments
  12. Works with integrity, always upholding company values
  13. Adapts to changes in the work environment.
  14. Communicates improvement processes to management team
  15. Promote and incorporate our core values of Teamwork, Integrity, Value, Improvement, Communication & Knowledge consistently in actions and communication
  16. Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
