Job description

You will help ensure that high-quality materials, including but not limited to technical papers, proposals, and product manuals, are provided to both internal and external customers.

As an Editor, a typical day might include the following:

  • Proofread, edit, and format presentations, documents, manuals, guides, and/or other published material.

  • Develop and maintain a high skill level in editing, proofreading, and producing technical documentation.

  • Collaborate with authors, reviewers, and others to edit deliverables, plan projects, and meet deadlines.

Consider applying for this position if you have:

  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience editing/proofreading/producing technical documentation

  • Strong proofreading, writing, grammar, and communications skills

  • Strong understanding of MS Office software

  • The ability to work under pressure and recognize the criticality of meeting stringent deadlines

  • The ability to collaborate to produce high-quality, technically accurate material

  • The ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. in English or technical communication or a related area

  • Experience with desktop publishing software (e.g., FrameMaker)

  • Experience with technical drawing software (e.g., MS Visio or Illustrator)

  • Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and the Gregg Reference Manual

  • Experience editing complex technical documentation

  • Experience with XML and/or XSL

Pay Range Data

We anticipate filling this position as an Editor $29.00 - $41.00. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job and responsibility. We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
