Job description

As an Editor at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc., you will help ensure that high-quality materials,such asproposals, manuals,project reports, presentations, and technical papers,areproduced forboth internal and external customers.

As an Editor, a typical daymight include the following:

  • Proofread, edit, and format presentations, documents, manuals, guides,proposals,and/or other published material.

  • Develop andmaintaina high skill level in editing, proofreading, and producing technical documentation.

  • Collaborate with authors, reviewers, and others to edit deliverables, plan projects, and meet deadlines.

Consider applying for this position if you have:

  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience editing/proofreading/producing technical documentation

  • Strong proofreading, writing, grammar, and communications skills

  • Strong understanding of MS Office software

  • The ability to work under pressure and recognize the criticality of meeting stringent deadlines

  • The ability to collaborate to produce high-quality, technicallyaccuratematerial

  • The ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. in English or technical communication or a related area

  • Experience with desktop publishing software

  • Experience with technical drawing software (e.g., MS Visio)

  • Working knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style and the Gregg Reference Manual

  • Experience editing complex technical documentation

Pay Range Data -$29.00 - $43.00 per hour
