Job description

CH Insurance, an independent insurance agency is seeking an experienced commercial lines marketing/customer service professional. This position will work with many of CH Insurance's smaller accounts and will be responsible for marketing new and existing accounts to the different insurance carriers and issuing renewals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare applications and review for accuracy
  • Rate and quote new and renewals risks using insurance carrier rating systems.
  • Awareness and familiarity with insurance company underwriting guidelines and authority.
  • Keep current on all insurance company's coverages, rates, changes, forms, communications, etc.
  • Prepares summaries and proposals for new and renewal accounts.
  • Process endorsements, certificates of insurance, auto ID cards, policy changes
  • Working knowledge and competency working in Applied EPIC or similar agency management system, Microsoft Word and Excel, and/or Adobe PDF.
  • Respond to coverage questions, billing inquiries and other client requests
  • Establish relationships with insurance carrier underwriters and marketing representatives.
  • Maintain marketing files.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 or more years of independent insurance agency and/or insurance carrier underwriting experience related to marketing or underwriting and servicing commercial accounts.
  • Small to midsize market account experience preferred
  • Property and Casualty license required
  • Applied (EPIC) or similar agency management system experience required. Applied EPIC preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of commercial lines coverage & rating
  • Knowledge of computer software packages, including Word and Excel
  • Knowledge on how to issue binders, certificates, and auto identification cards
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with a good work ethic
  • Good organization skills including prioritizing time sensitive assignments
  • Ability to be proactive and follow up with carriers, producers, clients, etc.
  • Ability to multitask to work on multiple accounts with common due dates, etc.
  • NYS Property / Casualty Agents/Brokers license required
  • Maintain NYS Property/Casualty Agents/Brokers License through continuing education

Normal work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. There may be times when additional time may need to be put in during busy season.
