Our client is a premier manufacturer of custom material handling and conveyor solutions. We are seeking a career-minded Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives in a collaborative, team-based environment. This is a long-term opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to design high-performance OEM equipment from the ground up.

The Role: Innovation & Custom Engineering

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating new equipment designs, modifying existing solutions, and ensuring all technical specifications are accurate and valid for complex industrial applications. You will work closely with Senior Project Engineers and Management to move designs from concept to reality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Custom Design: Develop innovative equipment solutions tailored to unique customer applications and specifications.
  • Technical Documentation: Create comprehensive drawings and details for assembly staff and outside fabrication vendors.
  • BOM Management: Develop detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) for all custom-designed equipment.
  • Field Engineering: Travel to customer sites to capture field measurements and discuss technical project details.
  • Collaboration: Interface daily with Sales, Controls Engineering, and Service departments to ensure project success.
  • Design Reviews: Actively participate in design reviews and assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining high standards and procedures.
  • Project Lifecycles: Support the Service department with engineering solutions for field issues and warranty work.
Requirements Basic Requirements
  • Experience: Proven background in OEM equipment design (conveyor or material handling experience is highly preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor (or similar 3D design software like Solidworks).
  • Education: High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Mindset: Extreme attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a desire to build a long-term career.
  • Organization: Ability to handle multiple complex tasks effectively within strict time constraints.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced experience in AutoCAD 3D (Inventor) or Solidworks.
