Job description

Summary

Refrigeration and Downstream Products Department is seeking a candidate for an Applications Engineering position within the group. 

Refrigeration and Downstream team consists of highly skilled and motivated sales and applications engineers with various degrees of experience. Considered a core to the success of the company, the group attracts the best and brightest engineers in the industry and offers unparalleled exposure to the latest technology in the oil, gas and petrochemical markets. In general, projects include process gas compression packages, process refrigeration systems and specialty gas processing facilities. Client base consists of domestic and international petrochemical and midstream companies and EPCs.

Applications Engineer is responsible for development of conceptual engineering, estimating the cost of the system and proposal preparation. The projects have with various degrees of specifications.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  • Evaluate the design and performance of the proposed equipment; ensure deliverability and reliability of suppliers to meet Customer's specifications and time table.
  • Review scope definition and  project specifications, prepare system process simulation, develop equipment sizing, prepare cost estimates and technical and commercial proposals.
  • Participate in development of proposal Process Flow and Process & Instrumentation diagrams as well as proposal General Arrangement drawings
  • Maintain knowledge of industry codes and standards applicable to the products in the global market.
  • Interface with all operational departments within the company.
  • Maintain customer relationships; participate in client clarification meetings as required.
  • Position may require some domestic and international travel.
  • Duties must be performed consistently with the company mission and values and adhere to company policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or relevant Engineering degree with a minimum of 2+ years' experience with rotating machinery and fabrication of gas compression equipment.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience with gas engine and electric motor drivers, process simulators, refrigeration and gas processing equipment, including fabrication.
  • Being customer-centered and able to maintain satisfied customer and vendor relationships.
  • Having track record of successfully resolving technical problems with a desire and ability to learn.
  • Being organized with attention to detail.
  • Having excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and team oriented, capable of learning, managing time, priorities, and operating well under pressure with little supervision.
Physical Requirements

Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
