Job description

TANN Corporation, a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of air pollution control equipment, is seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to join our team. Ideal candidates have experience in a manufacturing environment.

This full-time position is based at our corporate office in Kaukauna, Wisconsin and requires approximately 20%-30% travel. The qualified candidate will professionally represent TANN Corporation in all aspects of a project, most importantly customer relations and service.

What You'll Do
  • Correspond with customers to identify needs and opportunities.
  • Review potential solutions and select the proper technology to fit customer needs and budget.
  • Develop costing for technical solutions, including equipment sizing, component selection, fabrication cost, and installation requirements.
  • Author well-defined scope of work documents and drawings outlining project requirements.
  • Create high-quality proposal documents for company and customer approval.
  • Seek feedback and identify opportunities for new products and services.
  • Track actual vs. planned project costs, adjusting accordingly to stay within budget.
  • Provide excellent customer service, at customer locations and at the corporate office, to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Create and present information to customers about TANN products and services.
  • Complete FID testing at customer locations to verify equipment function.
  • Complete in-house testing of customer samples to select appropriate solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical job functions and responsibilities of the position with high attention to detail in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Exercises independent judgment and initiative, with minimal direction.
  • Strong mathematic and analytical skills.
  • Able to accurately measure distance, diameter, airflow, temperature, and similar parameters.
  • Communicates and works effectively with other departments and team members.
  • Able to prioritize and work on multiple projects at one time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, layouts, bills of materials, PLC programs, P&IDs, and other types of work orders and instructions.
  • Understands safety practices and procedures and continually implements them in the workplace or while working remotely, maintaining a low risk tolerance and high risk awareness.

Safety precautions are mandatory. Personal items provided by the employee include safety shoes or boots and prescription eye protection, if needed. Items provided by the company include standard eye protection, safety gloves, a hard hat, lanyard, safety vests, and ear protection.
