ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide technical support and competitor comparison/analysis.
• Perform thermal calculations for electric, electrode, steam, and hot water boiler systems.
• Analyze and review customer specifications both from a technical and commercial perspective.
• Work directly with Vapor Power / Precision Boilers Sales and Business Development Managers to support our independent sales representatives and end customers.
• Prepare cost analysis' and collaborate with management to define pricing strategies.
• Clarify technical deviations and negotiate performance requirements.
• Translate customer specifications into engineered solutions.
• Generate budgetary quotations and final bid proposals in a timely fashion.
• Maintain active proposals and quoting pipeline.
• Assist project management team for active orders.
• Collaborate with engineering department on customer submittal drawing packages.
• Coordinate with commercial operations for order entry flow.
• Acts as a liaison between company, customers, and vendors.
• Research and understand customer applications to optimize the engineering of the system.
• Assists with research and development of new products and services.
• Support assigned representatives with on-site or project specified activities.
• Prepare design bid packages for engineered solution projects
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical background.
• 2 years of experience with capital equipment is preferred. This can be a combination of sales, engineering, and design.
• Recent engineering program graduates will be considered for this position.
Skills and Abilities:
• A working knowledge of boilers, heat transfer equipment, or auxiliary boiler room equipment is preferred.
• The candidate must be willing to work independently after proper training and be a self-starter.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the project or product being developed.
• Curiosity of the business operations and alignment of customer expectations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel, or related software.
• Electrical systems and combustion experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Work Environment:
This position must perform tasks that involve mainly office exposure, sitting behind a desk performing tasks on a computer. Most of their time, the employee will spend time in the office with low to moderate exposure to noise, heat, and cold environment, other physical requirements include walking, bending, hand dexterity, speaking, seeing, and lifting/moving up to 15 pounds. Steel toe shoes, earplugs and safety glasses are always required while on the production floor. Travel expected <30%.
