POSITION SUMMARY:
Advanced Energy is looking for an experienced and competitive Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to help drive sales growth in the industrial and medical power supply segment. The FAE will collaborate with the sales team, marketing, and design engineers to provide highly differentiated technical support to our customers to drive design wins for a diverse set of applications and customers in the Rockies and TOLA region.
This position is based in Denver, CO; however, we also welcome qualified candidates from the Round Rock, TX area to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The FAE will support the adoption of Advanced Energy power solutions throughout all stages of the customer engagement process, from pre-sales activities through post-production and installation support.
  • FAE support takes many forms, including Advanced Energy solution recommendations, custom development definition, system architecture guidance, schematic reviews, and on-site customer qualification and debugging support. Our goal is for the FAE to be viewed as an extension of the customer's design team, serving as a trusted resource for solving system-level challenges.
  • By developing strong engineering relationships with customers, the FAE will identify and communicate technical requirements for new applications and unmet customer needs to the product development team. FAE input is critical to the definition of new products and the overall product roadmap.
  • FAEs regularly provide technology updates and product training to customers, sales teams, and distribution partners.
  • As a trusted customer advocate, the FAE must be able to build credibility and earn the trust of engineering leaders both internally and within customer organizations.
  • The FAE's technical expertise and customer insights play a significant role in shaping sales strategy.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Location: Denver, CO. Also open to accepting applications in the Round Rock, TX area.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Charismatic communicator that can advocate for both customers and the company
  • Solid problem-solving methodology
  • A passionate and curious technologist with an ability to learn and adapt to industry trends.
  • Extensive knowledge of power electronics with ability to qualify, test, modify, debug, and propose modifications to power supplies in the lab as needed
  • Basic knowledge of digital communication bus such as I2C bus and firmware reloading/rebooting experience.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 5 years of power electronics design and/or applications experience

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelors of Electrical Engineering degree, required

COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting base salary for this role is $110,000 to $180,000 per year.
