Job description

Seeking a skilled Appian Developer. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain Appian applications that support complex financial, acquisition, and analytic data processes within a dynamic multi-contractor environment.

Location: Reston, VA

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement business process management solutions using the Appian BPM Suite.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into Appian solutions.
  • Develop and maintain Appian objects, including Records, Reports, SAIL interfaces, Process Models, and Web APIs.
  • Optimize and troubleshoot Appian applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Integrate Appian applications with external systems and data sources using REST/SOAP web services.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Develop reusable toolkits and Appian components for process automation.
  • Implement Timer Events, Message Events, and Tracking Events to enhance process workflows.
  • Design and develop SAIL forms, dashboards, reports, services, and entity-backed records.
  • Ensure compliance with Appian best practices and internal coding standards.
  • Provide clear technical documentation and user guides for developed solutions.
  • Support Agile/Scrum project delivery and collaborate in sprint planning and review meetings.
Required Skills:
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (or ability to obtain one)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of software design, development, maintenance, and deployment experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on Appian development with versions x, v20.x, and v24.4.x
  • Valid Appian Certification (Associate Developer or higher)
  • Strong proficiency in SAIL, Appian Data Stores, and Process Models
  • Experience with Appian plug-ins, REST/SOAP integrations, and web services
  • Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Appian RPA and Appian AI capabilities
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of financial or acquisition workflows
  • Prior experience supporting federal programs or intelligence community projects
