Job description

We are seeking a strategic and consumer-focused Kids Apparel Merchant to lead merchandising and marketplace strategy across North America digital and store channels for a growing kids business for an international brand. This role will serve as a key partner in shaping assortments, guiding distribution strategy, and driving seasonal product plans that support growth and brand vision. Location: Portland, OR Schedule: On-site 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday), work from home Fridays Responsibilities Develop and execute a unified marketplace strategy across digital and store channels for the kids business. Build and manage seasonal assortments, product journeys, and merchandising strategies. Analyze business performance and apply hindsight to improve future assortments and in-season decisions. Communicate distribution strategies, pricing updates, door depth recommendations, and key merchandising stories. Support post-development product management, including product updates and cross-functional communication. Identify consumer, product, and marketplace opportunities to influence future assortments and investment priorities. Partner cross-functionally with merchandising, buying, planning, marketing, finance, and analytics teams to drive execution. Monitor consumer insights, historical performance, and market trends to inform assortment decisions. Support membership and consumer engagement strategies that strengthen brand connection and drive growth. Assist with special projects as needed. Requirements Bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising or a related field. 5+ years of experience in merchandising, product creation, or retail within a vertical or wholesale environment. Strong understanding of retail and profit-based metrics. Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to travel as needed. Ideal Profile Strategic thinker with a strong point of view on product and marketplace positioning. Comfortable working across multiple teams and stakeholders.
