Job description

Registered Nurse - Apheresis
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Requirements:
  • Active New York State RN License/Registration
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Minimum 1 year of Apheresis experience required
  • Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care RN experience within the past 2 years
  • Experience with Spectra Optia and Cellex systems required
  • Strong IV insertion and vascular access skills
  • Experience with AV Fistulas and Vortex Ports required
  • Experience in hospitals of similar or greater size and acuity preferred
  • Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred

Responsibilities:
  • Perform therapeutic and collection apheresis procedures for adult and pediatric patients
  • Care for both inpatient and outpatient populations
  • Assess patients before, during, and after procedures
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide appropriate interventions
  • Establish and maintain vascular access using peripheral IVs, AV fistulas, and Vortex ports
  • Operate and troubleshoot Spectra Optia and Cellex equipment
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Deliver high-quality patient care with minimal orientation and supervision

Assignment Details:
  • No on-call requirements
  • Adult and pediatric patient population
  • Inpatient and outpatient setting

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience
  • EPIC EMR proficiency
  • Strong assessment and vascular access skills
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities
