Key Responsibilities
  • Heavy AutoCAD usage to prepare Site layout, grading, storm drainage, stormwater management, utilities, erosion control design, landscaping and lighting layouts, zoning code reviews, and municipal and agency permitting. 
  • Review and interpret surveys and engineering reports (geotechnical, environmental, wetlands, traffic, etc.) for use in site design. 
  • Working knowledge of NYSDEC stormwater regulations and the motivation and ability to learn similar regulations for other states outside of NY are required.
  • Municipal and agency permitting and attendance at meetings.
  • Coordination with utility companies and review of design.
  • Some travel for meetings, site observations, etc.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS or pre-professional degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited school.
  • Proficient with technical software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, truck-turning, Hydrology, etc.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, OneNote, Google Earth, etc. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT
  • 3+ years of experience with site design.
  • Retail, QSR, or multi-site project experience.
