As an Sr Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace Anthem Avionics, you will be a part of our Anthem Data Communication Systems (DCS) team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex, real-time embedded communication software functions. Our Datalink product allows the aircraft to communicate with ground entities such as Air Traffic Control and Airline Operation Centers. This is an ideal position for you if you have great C++ real-time embedded software skills and would like to learn about the Datalink product line as you'll be joining a team of industry recognized Datalink experts.
You will report to one of our Next-Gen Avionics Engineering Directors and work out of our North Phoenix, Arizona location (hybrid schedule). Note: For the first 90 days, New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite M-F.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan and execute across the full embedded software lifecycle
  • Translate requirements into high-quality designs for real-time avionics systems
  • Design, architect, and develop C++ real-time embedded communication software
  • Integrate Datalink software with other Anthem systems
  • Perform unit, integration, and system testing for mission-critical applications
  • Execute verification and validation to meet aviation safety and performance standards
  • Contribute to feature definition for the Anthem Datalink product line
  • Support certification and regulatory compliance activities

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Minimum 6 years of experience designing real-time, embedded avionics software
  • Minimum 4 years of experience developing real-time embedded C++ software

WE VALUE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar degree.
  • Prior experience with ACARS or CPDLC based Datalink products
  • Full understanding of the DO-178C lifecycle
  • Prior experience with Python
  • Familiarity with requirements development and management tools such as DOORS 9.X or DOORS NG
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite such as JIRA, BitBucket, etc.
  • Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
  • Effective communicator and collaborator
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity
  • Can quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts
