The Anesthesia Technician reports to the Anesthesia Technician Supervisor. Under limited supervision, the Anesthesia Technician assists licensed anesthesia providers in the preparation and maintenance of patient monitoring devices and Anesthesia delivery systems. The Anesthesia Technician assists in the acquisition, preparation, assembly, and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. This role performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist attending anesthesiologists, residents and CRNAs in performing anesthetic procedures for patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics.

The Anesthesia Technician reports to the Anesthesia Technician Supervisor. Under limited supervision, the Anesthesia Technician assists licensed anesthesia providers in the preparation and maintenance of patient monitoring devices and Anesthesia delivery systems. The Anesthesia Technician assists in the acquisition, preparation, assembly, and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. This role performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist attending anesthesiologists, residents and CRNAs in performing anesthetic procedures for patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics.

Additional Job Description

High school diploma or equivalent. One year of direct patient care experience, in a healthcare facility; or supply experience in a healthcare setting or work experience with medical equipment/supplies; or college coursework in biology, physiology, anatomy or related scientific field; or an Associate degree; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Anesthesia technician experience preferred. Compliance in maintaining BLS and any other annual competencies is mandatory. Failure to abide by MUHA policies are subject to disciplinary action, including termination. Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain a Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent).
