What is an analytic stress?

An Analytic Stress job typically involves analyzing and evaluating structural and mechanical stresses on components or systems using mathematical and computational methods. Professionals in this role use finite element analysis (FEA) and other engineering techniques to predict failure points, optimize designs, and ensure safety and reliability. They often work in industries like aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing, collaborating with design and engineering teams to improve product performance. Strong skills in engineering principles, software tools like ANSYS or Abaqus, and material science are essential for success in this role.

What are the typical challenges faced by analytic stress engineers in their daily work?

Analytic Stress Engineers often encounter complex design problems that require detailed analysis and innovative solutions to ensure structures meet safety and regulatory standards. They must frequently balance competing demands for safety, weight, and cost-effectiveness, especially when working on tight project deadlines. Collaboration with design, manufacturing, and testing teams is common, and interpreting test data or unexpected results can add to the challenges. Staying up to date with evolving industry codes and advancements in simulation tools is also key to maintaining effectiveness in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the analytic stress position, and why are they important?

To excel as an Analytic Stress Engineer, you need a solid understanding of engineering principles, material science, and experience with stress analysis methods, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering. Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) software such as ANSYS or Abaqus, and relevant certifications like Professional Engineer (PE), are often required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities set top performers apart in this field. These competencies are crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of products or systems in high-stress environments.

Job description

Ready to own a territory and drive real revenue growth in the industrial services space?

Analytic Stress is looking for a Regional Account Manager to prospect, close, and grow business across our Southwestern Louisiana market. This is a high-visibility role for a self-motivated sales professional who thrives on building relationships with decision-makers and delivering results in a technical, relationship-driven industry. If you have direct selling experience in industrial services — especially industrial heat treatment and stress relieving in the refining, power, LNG, and chemical space — we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do

•     Own the full sales cycle across a defined territory within the Central Gulf Coast region, prospecting new accounts while growing and retaining existing ones

•     Hit revenue, retention, and penetration targets across industries including Refining, Fossil and Nuclear Power, Petrochemical, Fabrication, LNG, and Pulp & Paper

•     Serve as the primary point of contact for client decision-makers, managing relationships from first conversation through ongoing account management

•     Partner closely with Operations and Sales Management to scope, quote, and deliver on client commitments

•     Prepare and present solutions, quotations, bids, and tenders based on account potential and capability/capacity assessments

•     Coordinate order entry, contracts, production work orders, and change orders with the operations team

•     Track and communicate customer satisfaction before, during, and after every job

•     Manage pricing, proposals, and invoicing within company guidelines

•     Keep client billing, invoicing, and project management data accurate and compliant with client procedures

What You Bring

•     3+ years of direct selling experience required, ideally in industrial services (or an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience)

•     Industrial experience is a must; heat treating experience is a strong plus

•     Bachelor's degree preferred, not required

•     Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at every level of an organization

•     Solid business, financial, and technical acumen — comfortable with cost and gross margin analysis

•     A self-starter mentality: competitive, results-oriented, and able to work independently

•     Excellent communication, relationship building, negotiation, presentation, and time-management skills

•     Comfortable with MS Office and CRM/contact management tools

•     Willingness to travel within the territory and regularly visit customer sites

Why Analytic Stress

•     Own a defined, established territory with real growth potential

•     Work alongside experienced Operations and Sales teams who support you in closing

•     Be part of a company with a reputation for technical expertise in a specialized, high-demand industry

•     Excellent comprehensive compensation and benefits packages with opportunities for advancement
