We are currently seeking a Paralegal!
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to support the Legal Department and activities of Apartment Management Consultants ("AMC"), the 5th largest multifamily property manager in the United States. This position will play a critical role in managing legal operations, supporting litigation and operational and corporate matters, and ensuring efficient execution of legal processes across AMC's corporate and managed portfolio footprint.
The ideal candidate in this role is highly organized, knowledgeable about new and emerging legal management technology, detail-oriented, and experienced in real estate, corporate governance, contract administration, and litigation coordination and support within a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment.
Responsibilities include:
  • Litigation & Risk Support
    • Assist with litigation tracking, document collection, and coordination with outside counsel
    • Assist attorneys and property management personnel in responding to discover requests and needs of outside counsel that represents AMC/property owners
    • Assist in responding to discovery requests and subpoenas, claims, and regulatory inquiries
    • Ensure compliance with hard copy and electronic document retention policies
    • Prepare documents such as litigation hold correspondence and legal pleadings
    • Conduct legal research to support case preparation
  • Legal & Transactional Support
    • Support the Chief Legal Officer and rest of legal team in all aspects of multifamily real estate legal matters
    • Manage contracts process, including contract intake procedures to ensure contract review is timely addressed by legal team, including for vendor agreements, NDAs, service agreements, and property management contracts
    • Maintain workflow checklists, closing binders, and transaction/contract documentation
  • Corporate Governance & Compliance
    • Assist with entity formation, maintenance, and governance for Company legal entities
    • Maintain corporate records, minute books, and organizational documents
    • Support finance and legal with state licensing, registrations, and regulatory filings across multiple jurisdictions
    • Track and manage deadlines for filings, renewals, and legal/compliance reporting obligations
  • Legal Operations & Administration
    • Manage contract lifecycle processes, including: tracking, execution, and storage of final, executed contracts
    • Maintain and improve legal department systems
    • Coordinate with cross-functional internal stakeholders (operations, HR, finance, payroll, risk) on legal matters
    • Support budgeting, invoice review, and external counsel management, including on AMC's Legal Tracker system

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in one or more of the below:
    • Supporting a national real estate and/or property management company (multifamily preferred);
    • Litigation support in a law firm or other entity; or
    • Corporate law or in-house legal department.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Litigation management
    • Document Management and legal technology
    • Real estate transactions and contracting processes
    • Corporate entity management
    • Contract administration and legal documentation

  • Expert understanding and proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal management systems
  • Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.

Compensation: Full-time $80,000 - $130,000 annually
