We are Source and Build Foundations (SBF) org within Amazon Software Builder Experience (ASBX) organization. We're hiring an entrepreneurial leader for the Agentic Development Experience (ADX) team. Amazon builds on our platforms, millions of repositories, hundreds of thousands of production systems, and every AI agent writing code at Amazon today push to source control, build and release software using the infrastructure we own and operate. We power software development at Amazon by building the agentic source and build eco systems that every Amazonian relies on to ship code with AI. Agentic development has become one of the fastest-growing shifts in how Amazon builds, putting AI-assisted creation in the hands of tens of thousands of Amazonians and reshaping the loop between intent and shipped change. AI is transforming who builds and how they build at Amazon. Engineers, product managers, scientists, designers, and operations teams are all creators now, working alongside agents to ship faster than ever before.
Key job responsibilities
- Drive technical strategy, design, development, and operations for Agentic Development Experience team, serving the entire Amazon builder ecosystem.
- Hire, retain, and grow top engineering talent; build a high-performing team capable of operating critical infrastructure at Amazon scale while shipping innovative new capabilities.
- Own the product roadmap for your area, working with senior leadership to define strategy that balances platform reliability, scalability, and the evolving needs of AI-native development.
- Architect solutions that scale with Amazon's growth of millions of repositories, hundreds of thousands of builders, and an expanding population of AI agents.
- Drive AI-native operations and tooling from AI-assisted incident resolution to enabling agentic workflows that depend on programmatic source control access.
- Obsess over the builder experience for Amazon's diverse builder community.
- Collaborate across ASBX and partner teams to deliver a unified, secure, and seamless agentic development experience across all platforms.
- Operate critical developer infrastructure with the highest bar for availability, security, and performance.
A day in the life
As an SDM in ASBX, you will balance a combination of product, engineering, and people management responsibilities. You interact with internal customers and partners to identify opportunities to deliver capabilities to unlock new use cases and delight customers. You define and manage your team's roadmap. You lead the team on planning, design, and delivery of solutions, infrastructure and operational improvements. You lead and grow your team members.
About the team
The Agentic Development Experience (ADX) team builds and operates the infrastructure that makes this possible, and we practice what we preach: we are an AI-native team that uses AI across every aspect of our work, from design and coding to testing and operations. If you want to build at the intersection of developer tooling and AI, and ship products that reach every builder at Amazon, this is the team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience in software development, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities and experience with Active Directory
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
