Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, the Senior Software Engineer will contribute to the development of modern mobile applications and web applications. We are looking for someone with strong hands-on technical expertise, a passion for clean and scalable code, and solid problem-solving skills. This role will focus on designing, writing, and reviewing code, while collaborating closely with product, design, and quality teams to deliver high-quality software that meets business objectives.

What You’ll Accomplish – Your Performance Objectives

Objective #1
In your first 30 days:

  • Develop a basic understanding of applications by working with the team
  • Familiarize yourself with the technical implementations of mobile apps
  • Approve your first merge request through our peer review process

Objective #2
In your first 3 months:

  • Work with the development and QA teams to deliver your first feature to production
  • Work with the dev ops team to support the automation of our build and deployment processes, and to implement feature flagging
  • Ramp up on the existing codebase, tools, and development workflows.
  • Participate in code reviews and team discussions to share insights and learn best practices.
  • Contribute to identifying areas of technical improvement and begin proposing solutions or enhancements.

Objective #3
In your first 12 months:

  • Consistently contribute to the on-time delivery of features and bug fixes using Agile methodologies.
  • Take ownership of key components or modules, ensuring their quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate across teams to support technology and process improvements within engineering and related functions.
  • Actively participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the knowledge base by documenting best practices and mentoring newer team members.
Requirements:

The Day to Day:

  • Design and develop mobile applications using .NET MAUI and contribute web applications built on the .NET Framework, with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Write clean, efficient, and testable code to deliver high-quality software features and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, designers, and QA to align technical implementation with business requirements.
  • Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, code reviews, and other Agile ceremonies to ensure smooth and predictable delivery.
  • Continuously explore and evaluate new technologies, tools, and best practices to improve code quality and team productivity.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior developers when needed.

Qualifications:

  • 4 to 8 years of hands-on experience in mobile application development using .NET technologies, including Xamarin/.NET MAUI.
  • Strong experience with .NET Core and .NET Framework for building scalable applications
  • Proven expertise in mobile application development using Xamarin/.NET MAUI, with exposure to the full app lifecycle on both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Solid experience in designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs, including versioning, authentication, and performance tuning.
  • Solid understanding of MVVM architecture, XAML, data binding, commands, and resource management.
  • Experience implementing platform-specific functionality using MAUI handlers, dependency injection, or native platform APIs.
  • Experience implementing offline-capable mobile applications, including local data storage, caching, synchronization, and handling network connectivity changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize application performance and resolve scalability challenges.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based version control, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring to peers or junior engineers.
  • Exposure to cross-platform frameworks such as Kotlin Multiplatform or Flutter is an added advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
