Job description

The Amazon Software Builder Experience organization is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to drive cross-cutting initiatives for the company wide Software Development toolchain hardening initiative. Our customers are some of the highest-scale and demanding software services in the world, including AWS, amazon.com, Alexa, and Prime Video. And they expect that our software development comes secure by default and enables them to deliver value for their customers without worrying about toolchain related issues.
Our mission is to allow these teams to focus on developing software and spend less time thinking and working on safely and automatically getting it to where it needs to run

Our programs drive the evolution and growth of Amazon's internal use of serverless and container technologies, at scale. To continuously raise the bar on the Amazon builder experience, we focus on centralized automation, simplifying abstractions for complex software applications, and zero- and low-touch adoption of evolving best practices. As a central team, we often effect changes that have resounding impact, and partner with our internal customers to solve complex problems unseen at smaller scale.

This position will need to be flexible and creative in tackling those new challenges.
Key job responsibilities
This position will engage with engineering teams across multiple SVP organizations to influence roadmaps and prioritize efforts, requiring strength in ability to Earn Trust and Deliver Results. The Senior Technical Program Manager will track progress against goals and support sequencing the resources based on variables such as complexity, cost and security benefits, and adjacency to other systems which enable higher levels of abstraction. The right candidate will have a proven track record of planning and delivering complex programs with multi-year roadmaps

They will have experience driving architectural change across large organization(s) and handling communication for developers up to technical engineering leaders.
Key business outcomes you will drive by hardening the software development toolchain include - 1) Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation, 2) Operational Efficiency, 3) Security Posture Improvement, and 4) Maintain Customer Trust & Market Position
A day in the life
