Job description

We are seeking an experienced leader to lead program development and strategic initiatives for AWS InCommunities. This role will be responsible for building & scaling community programs working backwards from community needs, establishing metrics frameworks, developing governance structures, and driving cross-functional strategic initiatives that scale impact across our community engagement efforts. The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking with operational excellence to build programs that deliver measurable community outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Strategy
Lead end-to-end program development across all four InCommunities pillars, from ideation through implementation and scaling
Develop and execute multi-year strategic roadmaps that align with AWS and Amazon's broader community impact goals
Identify opportunities for innovation and new program models that increase community impact
Partner with cross-functional teams including social impact teams at Amazon, Public Policy, Public Relations, and Sustainability, ensure program alignment
Metrics & Measurement
Design and implement comprehensive metrics frameworks to measure program effectiveness, community impact, and ROI
Establish data collection methodologies and reporting cadences for all program activities
Create dashboards and reporting mechanisms for leadership visibility into program performance
Drive data-informed decision making and continuous improvement across all programs
Process & Governance
Develop and implement governance frameworks that ensure program quality, compliance, and risk management
Create standardized processes for program intake, evaluation, approval, and lifecycle management
Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and decision-making frameworks across the organization
Build scalable operational processes that support program growth while maintaining quality standards
Cross-Amazon Social Impact Collaboration
Partner with social impact teams across Amazon (including Amazon in the Community, AWS Disaster Response, AWS Educate, AWS Academy and other corporate social responsibility teams) to develop a unified approach to community engagement
Lead the development and implementation of coordinated community engagement strategies in priority data center locations
Establish mechanisms for knowledge sharing, resource alignment, and collaborative program delivery across Amazon's social impact portfolio
Drive consistency in community engagement practices while respecting the unique needs of communities in various geographies
Build relationships with regional and local stakeholders to ensure Amazon presents a cohesive community presence
Strategic Initiative Leadership
Lead high-visibility strategic initiatives that require cross-organizational collaboration
Manage complex stakeholder relationships across AWS, and external partners
Develop strategy documents and SROI mechanisms to assess program outcomes
Identify and mitigate risks to program success and organizational objectives
Team Leadership & Development
Build and mentor a high-performing team of program managers and analysts
