Job description

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a legal assistant to support our Devices organization, a dynamic and growing business responsible for the development of our family of devices and related services, such as the Kindle e-reader, Fire tablet, Echo Frames and more. The legal assistant will provide administrative assistance to attorneys, contracts managers, and business partners focusing on product development, supply chain, operations, marketing, and other matters. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently; manage high volumes of tasks and projects with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and think creatively and be proactive in solving problems that affect people within the group or other related groups.

The candidate will also be client-service oriented, have great attention to detail and organization skills, and have the ability to easily switch gears. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information is essential.
Key job responsibilities
Coordinating contract approvals, signatures, contract searches, organization and filings
Creating and maintaining internal legal and business facing standard operating procedures and other resources
Effectively using and managing software, systems, and tools used by the Legal Department; teaching team members and business users how to effectively use tools
Identifying and/or executing on legal and business-facing process improvements, including simplification measures
Providing general administrative support, such as including coordinating team events, helping with presentations and trainings, and calendaring.
Acting as a primary resource or "go to" for the team.
Management of special projects as needed.
