You will be a part of highly creative and efficient multi-disciplinary BIM design team, tasked with designing challenging and complex projects with innovative solutions for Amazon-owned data center facilities. You will provide support to our Design Engineering team through the preparation of Architectural models and documentation, leveraging BIM data. You will influence data center design documents for: exterior envelope design; interior architecture; furniture, finishes, and equipment; site and civil planning; space planning; life safety; structural systems; and building code compliance.

You will produce and maintain Architectural drawing sets for our fleet of data centers.

Key job responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will include designing the Architectural systems of data centers, utilizing Revit to create and maintain BIM models. You must be able to work independently with occasional guidance and work within a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks. This includes working with internal groups as well as external suppliers and consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors.
Your duties will include:
- Being self-motivated to work within the BIM Design group and across other teams.
- Preparing and developing detailed Architectural Revit models.
- Developing and publishing construction documentation for Architectural building system designs in a fast-paced environment to meet scheduled deliverables.
- Creating and maintaining regional and global template documents, including Revit Families and Detail Components.
- Updating and modifying existing models, studies and construction documents as required.
- Assisting the creation and maintenance of BIM templates and enforcing BIM standards.
- Participating in design coordination meetings with other trades for clash detection and resolution.
- Working on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
- Assisting information exchange processes between internal and external customers in a Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Recording and reporting of key metrics to management.
- Traveling to data center sites for engineering evaluations and surveys as required

A day in the life
As a Designer, you will collaborate across disciplines and teams to refine data center designs. Your work includes creating detailed models, drawings, specifications, and prototypes, and updating managers and leaders on changes to the building and site design

You engage in design discussions, review feedback from peers and collaborators, and adjust designs to ensure our data center solutions meet the highest standards of efficiency and quality.
In this role, you'll receive coaching and guidance from experienced managers and leaders who will help develop your technical and professional skills. You'll be expected to proactively seek feedback, participate in regular check-ins, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining open communication with all stakeholders.
