Job description

Title: Manager of Leave Services


Job Summary

Our Manager of Leave Services is a hands-on leader responsible for the overall team operations and Leave of Absence Services while also providing direct leave of absence administration.

This includes ensuring team compliance with all applicable federal, statutory, disability, and family leave laws, managing team personnel, leading the training efforts, refining and creating efficient processes. The leader of our team will also consult with new business referrals and be the main point of contact for vendors and strategic alliance partners.


The candidate that enjoys working independently but also partnering with internal team members, insurance carriers, vendors, clients and their employees will enjoy this environment and find great success here. The ability to stay organized, navigate new systems quickly, pivot, and reprioritize assigned tasks will lead to great success in this role.


Job Responsibilities

  • Assume a leadership role to support consistent delivery of high-level service and appropriate application of processes and policies across teams.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all employees, clients, vendors and strategic alliance partners.
  • Identify and develop solutions to address issues and trends; develop and strengthen existing processes and procedures to increase efficiency.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert by remaining current on all ever-changing laws, regulations and industry information. Consults with and advise team members and clients. Prepare communications to share impact with clients.
  • Manage the overall system configuration, accuracy, and functionality of the Leave Management System.
  • Analyze competitive pricing, structures, service offerings and delivery models, technology/systems, and current team operations to identify and develop more competitive processes/offerings
  • Manage LOA team personnel including but not limited to, new employee training/continuing education, performance management, guiding and coaching. Serve as team back up when needed.
  • Work with the Marketing Team to develop informative content for clients.
  • Works closely with assigned clients and their employees to deliver a superior experience during the leave administration process.
  • Complete 2 hours of continuing education course yearly (course provided by CBI)
  • Grow MedLeave book of business by soliciting new business, participating in meetings to consult with referrals, developing proactive marketing campaigns with Marketing Team
  • Assist with new client implementations
  • Lead and participate in special projects, audits, and other duties as needed.


Required Skills

ยท Subject matter expert on Leave administration with 7+ years of applicable experience.

ยท Maintains expert level knowledge of all applicable disability and leave laws (including but not limited to federal, statutory, disability and family leave). Proactively seeks out new laws/changes/updates.

ยท Possess a strategic mindset to make MedLeave Solutions a resource of choice for clients with effective team processes

ยท High School Diploma required, Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.

ยท Excellent verbal and written communication skills

ยท Strong ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities

ยท Solid capacity to influence and negotiate with all levels of employees

ยท Exercise effective judgement, sensitivity and creativity in all situations

ยท Previous experience training team members

ยท Proficiently navigates Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook along with Adobe products.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position directly manages all Leave Services employees. This includes but is not limited to the performance, scheduling and tasks for all employees within the department.


Work Environment

Creative Benefits, Inc. offers a hybrid schedule of working 2 days remote and 3 days in the office. Our employees enjoy the flexibility that comes with remote work while also valuing the connectivity that is achieved through in-person collaboration. A training period will require up to 5 days per week on site.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and photocopiers.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Travel

Travel to clients occurs occasionally. Travel is primarily local during the business day. On rare occasions, some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Travel between offices for the work day may be expected for expanded learning opportunities, collaboration and in-person meetings.Mileage is reimbursed.
