Job Summary
The Alumni Engagement Associate is a stewardship-centered, non-fundraising professional responsible for supporting alumni engagement initiatives that strengthen lifelong connection between alumni and Tuskegee University. This position serves both as a program support professional for alumni engagement initiatives and administrative support to the Senior Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement, assisting with daily office operations, scheduling, communications, and logistical coordination.
A central responsibility of this role is working collaboratively with Tuskegee University's colleges and schools, Career Services, and campus partners to increase alumni engagement and volunteerism. The position helps connect alumni expertise and experience with current students through mentoring opportunities, career conversations, professional networking, and volunteer engagement initiatives.
Through these efforts, the Alumni Engagement Associate contributes to strengthening alumni relationships, increasing alumni participation, and building a culture of alumni involvement that supports the mission and long-term success of Tuskegee University.
Essential Job Duties
  • Assist in coordinating alumni engagement programs, class reunions, and alumni events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleges and schools across the university to identify opportunities for alumni engagement and volunteer involvement within academic programs.
  • Partner with Career Services to facilitate alumni participation in mentoring programs, career panels, networking opportunities, and student engagement initiatives.
  • Support initiatives that connect alumni with students through mentorship, career guidance, internships, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist in identifying and supporting alumni volunteers who can contribute to university programs, student engagement activities, and academic initiatives.
  • Collaborate wi.th academic units, campus partners, and alumni leaders to strengthen alumni involvement in the life of the university.
  • Support planning and execution of alumni networking events, reunions, and engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of alumni engagement activities, volunteer participation, and program outcomes.
  • Assist with outreach and communications to alumni audiences regarding engagement opportunities and programs.
  • Assist with post-event evaluations and continuous improvement of alumni engagement initiatives.
  • Serve as administrative support to the Senior Director of Alumni and Constituent Engagement.
  • Answer phones and assist with general inquiries related to alumni engagement programs and initiatives.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and managing the Senior Director's calendar as needed.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, expense documentation, and travel-related logistics.
  • Assist with preparing and processing requisitions and administrative documentation.
  • Help prepare materials for meetings, alumni programs, and engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain organized records and files related to alumni engagement activities.

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in alumni relations, higher education engagement, event coordination, or administrative support roles.
  • Experience working with student engagement programs, career services, or volunteer initiatives preferred.
