Opportunity Overview

Altru Health System, a leading nonprofit, physician-led regional health system based in Grand Forks, ND, is actively seeking a full-time Hematologist/Oncologist to join its growing oncology team. This is a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care in a collaborative, patient-focused environment with a well-supported multidisciplinary team.

  • Practice primarily outpatient hematology and oncology with patient rounding supported by advanced practice providers.

  • Enjoy a balanced MondayFriday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule with shared weekday and weekend call coverage, supported by APPs on night calls.

  • Join a collegial team of 4 hematology/oncology physicians and 4 APPs in a health system serving a growing patient population across northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.

  • Utilize the fully integrated Epic EMR system across inpatient and outpatient settings.

  • Benefit from affiliation with the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, offering optional teaching opportunities for medical students and residents.

  • Collaborate closely with other specialty services within a Level II Trauma Center and the newly opened 226-bed Altru Hospital (opened January 2025) featuring advanced technology and comprehensive cancer care resources.

  • Participate in a three-year guaranteed contract with automatic annual renewal and a competitive compensation package including sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

Candidate Qualifications
  • MD/DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Hematology and Oncology required.

  • Open to experienced physicians as well as 2026/2027 residency or fellowship graduates.

  • Visa sponsorship available for H-1B and J-1 candidates for 2026/2027.

  • Must reside within the Grand Forks area per system bylaws.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary with productivity-based incentives (wRVU model).
