Job description

Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop offers casual family-style dining in a comfortable plantation-era atmosphere, open 7 days a week and located in Olowalu, Maui. The Relief Manager will float between 3 of our restaurants including Leoda's, Aloha Mixed Plate, and Star Noodle on a need basis. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team! Description: Responsible for every aspect of the guest's and staff's experience. Duties include hiring, training, and scheduling staff, greeting guests, resolving customer complaints, providing hands-on help to service teams, leading daily pre-shifts with staff. Schedules and leads monthly Staff Meetings. Establishes and maintains good communication and relationships with staff. Familiar with regular customers by name and tracks their preferences. Restaurant experience in a supervisory or management role required.

*Up to $1000 Signing Bonus*

Duties and responsibilities
  • Hires and oversees training and performance reviews for dining service staff, following the standards set for each outlet and using the passport as a guide
  • Schedules staff based on anticipated volume and coordination of balanced service teams
  • Adjusts environment, music and lighting, and temperature as needed to maintain the appropriate atmosphere and service levels
  • Resolves any customer complaints that are "passed up" from staff
  • Provides hands-on help if needed by any of the service teams, including facilitating the resolution of conflicts between or within teams
  • Greets guests and delivers the Leoda's experience
  • Remembers regular customers by name and tracks their dining preferences
  • Passes all training requirements required of front line staff of host, busser, food runner and cashier positions within 6 months
  • Maintains inventory of service products, glassware, silverware, uniforms
  • Leads service staff with cleaning and maintaining of all front of the house areas, furniture, equipment and fixtures, coordinating with the Chef and cleaning crew
  • Regularly teaches staff workshops
  • Updates Point of Sale systems as needed
  • Leads daily pre-shifts and schedules monthly staff meetings
  • Establishes and maintains good communication and a positive working relationship with Chef and Back of the House staff

  • Restaurant experience in a supervisory or management role is necessary
  • Has worked in a high-end restaurant environment
  • Has an appreciation for and working knowledge of really good food
  • Provides leadership that inspires teamwork, generates energy, enthusiasm, and drives results
  • Has a reputation for excellent relations with customers, vendors, floor and Kitchen staff
  • Has the ability to design, implement, and continually improve the systems and procedures that lead to success
  • Has experience in the training and development of staff members
  • Is self-directed and able to work independently, as well as be an integral leader of the management team
  • Has the ability to deliver the Leoda's experience to every customer.
  • Likes to work holidays, weekends, events, and other peak periods of the restaurant business
