Category Manager - Beverages
Location: Boca Raton, FL | Retail | 5+ Years Experience
We are seeking a commercially driven Category Manager to lead the Beverages, Alcohol, and Tobacco portfolio, with primary focus on Beverages and Alcohol. Tobacco is a smaller component of the category. This role owns strategy, assortment, vendor partnerships, and overall financial performance.
Candidates may come from beverage distribution, wine and spirits retail leadership, or beverage sales backgrounds transitioning into category management. Grocery retail experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute category strategy to drive sales, margin, and inventoryperformance
• Manage assortment, pricing, promotions, and merchandising plans
• Analyze financial and market data to identify growth opportunities
• Build strong supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms
• Forecast sales, gross profit, and inventory to support annual budgets
• Partner cross-functionally with Pricing, Replenishment, and Operations
• Lead and develop a Category Assistant
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of relevant experience in beverages, alcohol, or related categories
• Background in beverage distribution, wine and spirits retail management, or beverage sales strongly considered
• Professional experience managing alcoholic beverage categories is a must
• Strong analytical and financial acumen
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Proven leadership and negotiation skills
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
