We are a family owned company who has been in business since 1936 and continues to experience strong growth year after year. Abt Electronics specializes in electronics, appliance & furniture sales, delivery, installation and servicing all the products we sell. We are a perennial winner of the Chicago Tribune's Top Workplace Award. We are looking for a highly motivated, flexible & friendly Alarm Technician to join our team. In addition, must be comfortable contributing/working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and fun work environment. Primary duties include:
  • Installation, wiring & repair of:
    • Security alarm systems
    • Access controls
    • CCTV
    • Fire systems
  • Web based home security products
  • Troubleshooting error codes and false alarms
  • Integration of alarm & smart home technology

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years installation/programming experience
  • Valid Illinois PERC card required
  • Surveillance, access & fire alarm experience a plus
  • Honeywell, Concord & DSC experience preferred
  • Pass a DOT physical & drug test
  • Clean background
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Team oriented
  • Able to participate daily in physical labor
  • Need to be flexible with hours
  • Be friendly & respectful towards customers and their property
