Job Description:

The Assembly Integration Focus Factory within L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail oriented Engineering Technician. In this role, you will execute assigned tasks with accuracy and timeliness as an individual contributor while collaborating effectively within a low volume, high precision manufacturing environment. You will work closely with engineering teams to support the fabrication and integration of optical, mechanical, composite, and electronic components. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail in hardware handling and traceability, and hands on experience in similar technical roles. Strong problem solving abilities, effective communication, and teamwork skills are essential. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to advanced technology development and precision manufacturing within L3Harris Space and Airborne Systems.

Essential Functions:

Perform work in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment
Read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions
Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation
Ability to work with fragile and precise assemblies
Assist with identifying problems and suggesting solutions
Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices
Work with a variety of hand tools and specialized equipment
Must be proficient with measuring tools (verniers, calipers, scales, etc.)
Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays and some travel

Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; Or, 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical discipline
Aerospace or Defense industry experience
Experience with CMM and/or Laser Tracker measurement tools
Experience with shop equipment including but not limited to Mills, Lathes, Grinders, and precision measuring equipment
Lean Manufacturing practices

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $45,000-$84,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
