Job description

Overview

The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering & Test Capability (SE&TC) Center seeks a Principal Electronic Warfare Lead System Engineer to integrate hardware and software, develop test plans, debug and evaluate system functions, and verify system requirements supporting final sell‑off to the customer. This onsite role in Atlanta, Georgia requires a U.S. citizen with a DoD Secret clearance.

What You Will Do
  • Lead the integration and test team through all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Plan and execute integration, verification and troubleshoot test activities in labs and in the field.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPTL) leaders.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in signal processing design.
  • Create or modify electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including simulations and lab tests, to verify system capability.
  • Evaluate functional performance of developmental RF systems, firmware and algorithms.
  • Compile detailed performance evaluations using analysis tools such as MATLAB.
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to stakeholders.
  • Schedule and lead periodic team meetings, interface teleconferences, and working group meetings.
  • Support implementation of process requirements.
What You Will Learn

After completion of comprehensive on‑the‑job training, you will support systems engineering, integration, and test activities across the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications – Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Physics, etc.).
  • 8+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronics with commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship.
Qualifications – Preferred
  • Lead engineering teams through integration and test activities.
  • Experience in RF system design, digital/analog signal processing, waveform and modulation analysis, algorithm implementation, and testing.
  • Experience integrating software and firmware onto electronic hardware systems.
  • Programming experience in C/C++/C# and familiarity with Microsoft Office, MATLAB, or Python for data analysis and automation.
