Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking Network Systems Engineer for our location at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, supporting USAF's RC-135 mission aircraft and its related ground support systems.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Configuring, maintaining, and reconstituting complex enterprise level networks utilizing a multitude of routing and switching hardware from multiple vendors such as Cisco, Dell, and Brocade.
  • TCP/IP, static, dynamic routing protocols, switch oversight and firewall administration
  • Administering and maintaining Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) to secure enterprise network traffic.
  • Administering and troubleshooting enterprise level networks within a Red Hat Linux/Microsoft Windows environment and services such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory and LDAP
  • Implementing and supporting system and network defensive measures and secure configuration techniques
  • Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Type 1 encryption devices
  • Additional responsibilities include providing weekly network status updates to management and USAF customers, maintaining network diagrams, and training USAF personnel as requested.
  • The Network Engineer will also hold a qualification as an RC-135 Mission Systems Computer Systems Administrator (CSA), assisting the CSA as needed in providing support for RC-135 operational and ground training sorties utilizing the Ground Data Processing System (GDPS).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both local and remote systems engineering teams
  • Must be able to work various shifts as mission dictates
  • Obtain CompTIA Security+ certification or higher within six months
  • Ability to move up to 50 lbs and ascend/descend ladders up to 5% of the time
  • Must be worldwide deployable with the ability to travel up to 15%
  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with CI polygraph within the first year.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience in networking operations and sustainment
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent UNIX or Linux technical certification.
  • Programming experience with Linux shell scripting, MySql, PHP, Perl, Java and HTML.
  • Knowledge and experience with the current RC-135 mission systems or equivalent platform or systems.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
