Job description

Senior Systems Engineer โ€“ Azure

The Systems Engineer reports to the Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure role is responsible for administration, security, design and maintenance of our migration from an on-prem Windows Server/VMWare environment to a cloud environment (Azure).

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, manage, and monitor hybrid workloads across VMWare and Azure infrastructure and platform services (IaaS and PaaS) including new system and service builds, HA/DR requirements and configuration
  • Build processes and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications leveraging Infrastructure as Code
  • Design, manage, and enhance identity management solutions leveraging Okta, Azure Active Directory, Active Directory domains using security best practices
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
  • Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and application availability
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives
  • Act as a last level of escalation for major company impacting issues, while collaborating with other Technical teams and our Service Desk
  • Perform duties as assigned

Skills We're Seeking

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience with Systems Engineering in Microsoft environments
  • 2+ years of Azure experience

Nice To Have Experience

  • DevOps, ideally with Azure DevOps
