Which 3 jobs will survive AI?

For AI transportation roles, jobs such as transportation managers, safety inspectors, and maintenance technicians are likely to persist because they require complex decision-making, oversight, and hands-on skills that AI cannot fully replicate. These roles involve managing AI systems, ensuring safety standards, and performing repairs, which depend on human judgment and adaptability. Continuous learning and technical expertise in AI tools will enhance job security in this field.

What is a $900000 AI job?

A $900,000 AI job typically refers to high-level positions in artificial intelligence, such as AI research directors, senior machine learning engineers, or AI executives, often requiring advanced skills, extensive experience, and sometimes ownership of significant projects. These roles usually involve leadership, strategic planning, and expertise in AI tools, programming languages, and data analysis. Compensation at this level reflects the complexity and impact of the work, as well as the company's size and industry.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in AI transportation roles?

Professionals in AI transportation often encounter challenges such as integrating advanced AI solutions with legacy transportation systems, ensuring data quality for effective machine learning models, and addressing safety and regulatory requirements. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams—including engineers, data scientists, and city planners—is crucial for developing practical and scalable solutions. Additionally, adapting quickly to evolving technologies and industry standards is essential for success and career growth in this dynamic field.

What is the difference between Ai Transportation vs Truck Driver?

AspectAi TransportationTruck Driver
Required CredentialsMay require specialized training in AI systems, logistics, or transportation technologyCommercial Driver's License (CDL), driving experience
Work EnvironmentTechnology-driven, often in offices, warehouses, or on the road with autonomous vehicle systemsOn the road, in trucks, and at loading docks
Employer & Industry UsageLogistics companies, tech firms integrating AI, transportation servicesFreight companies, logistics firms, delivery services
Common Search & Comparison IntentUnderstanding roles in AI-driven transportationTraditional trucking and freight roles

Ai Transportation professionals focus on managing and developing AI systems for transportation, often requiring technical skills and familiarity with AI technology. Truck Drivers operate vehicles manually, primarily handling freight and deliveries. While both roles are part of the transportation industry, Ai Transportation emphasizes technology and automation, whereas Truck Drivers focus on hands-on driving and logistics execution.

How can AI be used in transportation?

AI transportation professionals develop and implement AI systems that optimize traffic flow, enable autonomous vehicles, and improve logistics efficiency. They work with machine learning algorithms, sensor data, and real-time analytics to enhance safety and reduce congestion in transportation networks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an AI Transportation Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as an AI Transportation Specialist, you need expertise in data analysis, machine learning, transportation systems, and typically a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Familiarity with programming languages (such as Python), simulation tools, and AI frameworks, along with knowledge of transportation management systems, is usually required. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills help navigate complex projects and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams. These skills are vital to develop, implement, and optimize intelligent transportation solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and sustainability in modern transit networks.

What is AI Transportation?

AI Transportation refers to the use of artificial intelligence technologies to improve and automate various aspects of transportation systems. This includes self-driving vehicles, intelligent traffic management, route optimization, predictive maintenance, and smart logistics. AI helps increase safety, efficiency, and sustainability in transportation by analyzing large amounts of data and making real-time decisions. The field is rapidly evolving and is being adopted by public transit systems, freight companies, and private vehicle manufacturers worldwide.

Is AI taking over transportation jobs?

AI transportation jobs, such as autonomous vehicle operators and fleet managers, are evolving as automation advances. While AI can replace certain tasks, many roles still require human oversight, decision-making, and technical skills, making complete job replacement unlikely in the near term.

Job description

About Obvio AI
Each year, more than 40,000 people in the U.S. leave home and never make it back due to traffic crashes. At Obvio, we believe these deaths are preventable. We deploy solar-powered, AI-assisted cameras to enforce traffic laws where pedestrians are most vulnerable-automating enforcement in ways that traditional systems cannot. Our approach has already led to a 50% reduction in reckless driving in early partner cities.
Founded by the team behind Motive's AI dashcam and backed by Bain Capital Ventures and Khosla Ventures, we are building the intelligence layer for safer streets globally.
About the Opportunity
Obvio is seeking a contract Field Data Collection Technician to support traffic behavior studies across the Mid-Atlantic region, including Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia.
These studies will focus on areas such as school zones, high-incident intersections, and busy pedestrian corridors. This is a high-visibility initiative, with findings expected to be shared with media outlets, local newspapers, and public officials.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, is comfortable working independently in the field after training, and has an interest in AI, transportation technology, public safety, or real-world data collection.
Contractors will receive all necessary field equipment, including tripods, cameras, speed sensors, laptops, safety vests, and related materials. Obvio will also provide training on field deployment procedures, equipment setup, safety expectations, and data upload requirements.
What You'll Do
  • Travel to traffic study deployment locations across the Mid-Atlantic region
  • Set up and monitor roadside traffic study equipment, including cameras, speed sensors, tripods, laptops, and related hardware
  • Deploy and manage multiple cameras or sensors at once according to study guidelines
  • Monitor each study location for approximately two hours
  • Ensure equipment is positioned safely, accurately, and consistently
  • Follow Obvio's field procedures, safety protocols, and deployment instructions
  • Upload collected data at the end of each day using a reliable home internet connection
  • Recharge and maintain provided equipment, including laptops and field hardware
  • Coordinate with the Obvio team based in College Park as needed
  • Meet with the team in College Park, MD from time to time for training, equipment handoff, or operational coordination
What We're Looking For
  • Highly motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently in the field
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions carefully
  • Comfortable transporting, setting up, and troubleshooting field equipment
  • Willingness to work outdoors and adapt to changing field conditions
  • Interest in AI, transportation technology, smart cities, public safety, or real-world data collection
  • Comfortable with a flexible field schedule based on deployment needs
  • Technical education or experience preferred, such as computer science, engineering, data science, transportation, field operations, or a related area
  • Recent graduates, graduate students, or candidates with hands-on technical field experience are encouraged to apply
Requirements
  • Personal vehicle for transporting equipment to deployment locations
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel to field sites across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia
  • Ability to travel up to approximately two hours roundtrip per day, depending on deployment location
  • Access to reliable home internet, not a mobile hotspot, for end-of-day data uploads
  • Ability to recharge the provided laptop and equipment daily
  • Availability for 3-4 days per week, with hours varying based on study schedules and travel needs
  • Ability to periodically meet with the team in College Park, MD
What Obvio Provides
  • Paid contract opportunity
  • Paid training
  • All necessary field equipment, including cameras, tripods, speed sensors, laptops, safety vests, and related materials
  • Mileage reimbursement for approved travel
  • Hands-on experience with real-world AI traffic safety technology
  • Opportunity to contribute to a high-impact public safety initiative

Why Obvio
  • Your work will help save lives and improve road safety
  • Series A of $22M led by Bain Capital
  • Fast-moving startup environment with meaningful ownership
  • Competitive compensation and early-stage equity
