As an AI Innovation Coordinator, you will help shape how our heavy civil projects leverage artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. You'll coordinate AI initiatives across the company, working closely with operations and leadership to identify opportunities, pilot solutions, and deploy AI-driven automations that improve safety, quality, schedule, and cost performance.

What you will be doing
  • Coordinate AI innovation initiatives, pilots, and workshop activities focused on heavy civil construction operations.
  • Partner with Company and Operations leadership to design, test, and implement AI agents and automations in project and corporate workflows.
  • Research and analyze AI opportunities (e.g., predictive analytics, computer vision, document intelligence, planning/scheduling tools) and assess their practical application in the field and office.
  • Support and coordinate data collection, data modelling, and testing sessions to evaluate AI use cases and prepare them for project deployment.
  • Work closely with internal champion groups to develop innovation tools, training content, software standards, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Help define and maintain guidelines, procedures, and best practices for AI use across the organization, including responsible and ethical use.
  • Promote awareness, adoption, and effective use of AI tools by delivering demos, training sessions, and ongoing support for project teams.
  • Track performance metrics, KPIs and lessons learned from AI initiatives and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
What we are looking for

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; or
  • 5+ years of experience applying AI / advanced digital tools in heavy civil construction

Technical & Industry Experience

  • Experience with computer applications and productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 / MS Office Suite).
  • Exposure to or hands-on experience with emerging technologies such as IoT, machine learning, robotics, or advanced analytics.
  • Experience with technology application in construction and digital transformation (e.g., model-based workflows, field mobility tools, connected equipment, sensor data) is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, construction drawings, specifications, and assess constructability.

AI & Innovation Mindset

  • Demonstrated interest in AI tools, platforms, and systems that drive efficiencies in the construction industry (e.g., generative AI, document automation, predictive insights).
  • Comfortable learning new software quickly and translating technical capabilities into practical field and office workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop actionable solutions.
  • Effective communicator who can work with both technical teams and non-technical field/operations teams.
  • Collaborative, curious, and proactive-excited to experiment, learn, and help others adopt new ways of working.
  • Experience working in a large construction or engineering organization, particularly in heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with data visualization or basic analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing small projects or initiatives.
