Job description

Agricultural Services and Loan Operations Assistant
MONTICELLO, IL
First State Bank and Trust is currently seeking a full-time Agricultural Services and Loan Operations Assistant to join our team. This position provides administrative and customer support for our agricultural lending and farm management services, while also supporting day-to-day loan operations activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ag Services Assistant
  • Develop a working knowledge of farm loan customers, farm management clients, and tenants to support service and operational needs
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for farm loan and farm management inquiries
  • Maintain and update financial, collateral, insurance, and farm management records
  • Assist with preparation of agricultural loan documentation and farm management reports
  • Monitor lease payments, renewals, and related activity
  • Coordinate with external agencies (including Farm Service Agency) as needed

Loan Operations
  • Process loan payments, board new loans, and perform ongoing loan maintenance within the core system
  • Maintain accurate loan files (electronic and hard copy) and related system records
  • Monitor tickler systems and ensure required documentation is maintained
  • Assist with general ledger balancing activities related to loan operations
  • Respond to customer questions related to loan payments and payoffs
  • Provide general operational and clerical support across loan operations and agricultural services

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-5 years of related experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team environment
