Position Summary

The Ruminant Nutritionist will provide technical expertise, customer support, product development insight, and field-based sales support within the beef industry. This role works closely with customers, account managers, and internal teams to deliver nutritional solutions that drive performance and create value for producers.

What You'll DoTechnical & Nutrition Support
  • Develop expertise in Devenish technologies and nutritional solutions.
  • Formulate beef cattle diets and rations.
  • Assist with closeout reports and nutritional evaluations.
  • Research and evaluate products, ingredients, and competitor offerings.
  • Support internal teams to improve customer service and operational efficiency.
Customer & Sales Support
  • Support existing customers while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Evaluate customer needs and recommend nutrition programs and technologies.
  • Work alongside Account Managers to deliver value-added solutions.
  • Provide technical support and education to customers and prospects.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitive products.
Research & Product Development
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Technical teams on product positioning and educational materials.
  • Identify opportunities for new product development and innovation.
  • Participate in ongoing research initiatives.
  • Lead monthly beef nutrition meetings.
Requirements:

Required

  • Master's degree (MS) or PhD in Animal Science, Ruminant Nutrition, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in ruminant nutrition, preferably within a commercial beef environment.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Feed ingredients and feed additives
    • Feed formulation and manufacturing
    • Beef cattle nutrition and management
    • Production systems and animal health
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout the Upper Midwest.
Preferred
  • Experience providing customer-facing technical support.
  • Experience working with feed companies, nutrition consulting, or livestock production operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and grow customer relationships.
