Job description

SUMMARY

The Aggregate Mining Engineer will assist in creating simulations of mining operations at various sites utilizing AggFlow software.  Will contribute to the optimization, design and layout of new plants and in turn aid in determining what equipment will best meet intended goals. May also assist in troubleshooting existing plant operations to optimize or improve efficiencies of output.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assist with the creation of new plant designs and layout by developing simulation models, utilizing AggFlow software, to compare and contrast the impact of different machinery, plant set-ups and operating modes
  • Assist in evaluating current systems and processes and implement optimizations to improve efficiencies using simulation models.
  • Develop engineering projects to constantly upgrade and improve safety efficiencies, cost control, quality controls, and implementation.
  • Participate with operating and maintenance departments in problem solving efforts.
  • Assist operating and maintenance departments in the implementation of new technology.
  • Assist with MSHA interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum 5 years of mining or geological engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or Geological Engineering.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Experience using AggFlow preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA and other applicable codes.
  • Excellent analytical, management, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to travel as required per position responsibilities.
