Aggregates Plant Manager
The Aggregates Plant Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating daily production activities at the mine site. The Plant Manager’s key functions are to provide the necessary leadership to plan, direct, organize, coordinate and oversee the mining and production of raw materials through the Plant in a safe and efficient manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas
  • Consistently identify new operational opportunities and develop strategies for accomplishing the attainment of improved efficiency and productivity
  • Ensure customer satisfaction is met and that all products comply with quality standards
  • Initiate and implement production and scheduling related programs, strategies and techniques that result in increased productivity, and maintain safe operations of the assigned Plant, while containing the budgeted expenses of the assigned plants
  • Manage the performances of plant personnel, work independently, meet deadlines and manage the assigned Plant with fiscal integrity
  • Delegate responsibilities; must be able to objectively evaluate the performance of subordinates; and must be able to hold others accountable in a constructive manner
  • Participate in Company safety inspections as well as MSHA inspections
  • Supervise team to maintain a safe work environment, quality production and efficiency
  • Schedule production and execute preventative maintenance routines
  • Maintain sufficient inventory levels at the mine site to ensure an uninterrupted source of material for the company
  • Coordinate safety issues and investigate incidents with safety department
  • Ensure environmental compliance, rehabilitation and meeting permit obligations
  • Schedule rentals, mechanics and 3rd party contractors as needed at the mine site.
  • Responsible for P.O’s, Company Credit Card and all expenditures associated with the plant or pit
  • Other duties as assigned.
Functional Responsibilities:
Leadership: Oversees and directs a team consisting of a Plant Foreman, Operators, Maintenance Technicians, Laborers, and other support and administrative staff to efficiently produce and deliver quality aggregates for our customers
  • Creates a positive atmosphere for employees and co-workers
  • Ensures all team members are trained to perform duties and job responsibilities
  • Establishes an environment of accountability
Quality Production: Consistently produces quality aggregate by meeting all gradation and QC specifications for all products produced
  • Understands how raw material quality impacts our customers
  • Ensures all personnel are aligned to meet quality standards and specifications
  • Strives to improve productivity and meet processing objectives
Communication: Proactively communicates with Brannan Team members, vendors, and customers to maximize quality and efficiency
  • Works with co-workers and plant personnel to ensure the annual production plan is met
  • Creates and implements the production plan
  • Works with QC staff to ensure QC standards and specifications are met for all products
  • Identifies and eliminates roadblocks to a successful job
Additional Requirements:
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill coupled with good negotiation, planning, scheduling and people management ability.
  • The ability to recognize production problems and the experience to solve those problems. Good knowledge of Sand and Aggregate Mining and related Raw Materials Plant Production and the ability to motivate departmental personnel to meet production goals while maintaining the integrity of the safety program.
  • Understanding computer will be helpful.
  • Needs to have a good working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulic systems, water systems, pumps, motors, conveyors, and air systems.
  • Must be a decision-maker that constantly incorporates common business sense into the decision-making process.
  • Material handling knowledge essential.

Level 1:
Required Education: High School Diploma or GHED Equivalent
Required Work Experience: 5-10 years Aggregate Mining and related Raw Materials Plant Production experience
Level 2:
Required Education: High School Diploma or GHED Equivalent
Required Work Experience: 10-15 years Aggregate Mining and related Raw Materials Plant Production experience
Level 3:
Required Education: High School Diploma or GHED Equivalent
Required Work Experience: 15+ years Aggregate Mining and related Raw Materials Plant Production experience
