ABOUT THIS ROLE

Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a experienced Welder with a strong background in quarry or aggregate operations and heavy equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional welding and fabrication skills, solid mechanical knowledge, and hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and industrial machinery in a quarry, mining, aggregate, or similar industrial environment.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Perform high-quality welding, fabrication, and structural repairs on heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and metal components to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
  • Fabricate, repair, and reinforce metal parts for crushers, screens, conveyors, hoppers, chutes, and processing equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical failures on quarry equipment and mobile heavy machinery.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on aggregate processing equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Repair buckets, booms, frames, wear plates, and structural components on loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and dozers.
  • Install, replace, and align bearings, shafts, pulleys, sprockets, rollers, belts, and mechanical drive systems.
  • Perform cutting, grinding, fitting, and fabrication using torches, plasma cutters, and metalworking equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, equipment manuals, and welding specifications.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to identify equipment failures.
  • Inspect equipment for cracks, excessive wear, and structural damage, performing quality repairs as needed.
  • Assist with plant shutdowns, scheduled maintenance, and emergency breakdown repairs.
  • Replace worn components and perform rebuilds on crushers, conveyors, feeders, and screening equipment.
  • Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, welders, grinders, cutting torches, and other shop equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate repair needs with supervisors.
  • Follow all OSHA, MSHA, company safety policies, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work independently or as part of the maintenance team to meet production goals.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize production interruptions.
  • Perform additional maintenance and fabrication duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required, Technical school, vocational training, or trade certification in Welding, Industrial Maintenance.
  • Field of Study Preferred: AWS Certified Welder
  • Required Work Experience:Minimum of 5 years of welding and heavy equipment maintenance experience, preferably in a quarry, mining, aggregate, construction, or industrial environment
  • Previous experience working in a quarry, aggregate, mining, construction, or industrial environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
  • Proven experience performing structural repairs, metal fabrication, and equipment modifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to safely operate welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound repair decisions.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow OSHA, MSHA, and company safety procedures.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a willingness to assist wherever needed to keep operations running efficiently


Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
