Job description

Mailroom Associate

The mailroom is an essential operational function for the Agency that facilitates the daily flow of information, notices, deliveries, to and from Agency staff, programs, mayoral agencies and external partners. The Mailroom Associate will support all mailroom activities, including sorting, posting mail and packages, as well as operating mailroom postage machines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sort and distribute incoming mail from USPS; sort and distribute all inter-office mail from all facilities, including DOHMH District Health Centers.
  • Receive, sort, maintain daily log to track packages and boxes.
  • Meter mail and tapes for packages and post offices.
  • Travel to local post office branches to check PO boxes and submit critical mail items, as necessary.
  • Maintain and monitor mailroom equipment and supplies on a timely basis; including postage.
