Job description

Mason Preparatory School is an independent school dedicated to educating the whole child through strong relationships, academic excellence, and an engaging, student-centered learning environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable individual to serve as our Extended Day/After-School Programs Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys making a positive impact on children's lives and leading a team in a fun and active school environment.
As the Extended Day/After-School Programs Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operation of our Extended Day program and after-school programs we offer, ensuring students have a safe, welcoming, and engaging place to end their school day. You will also serve as a point of contact for parents, visitors, and outside vendors, communicating professionally to support the day-to-day success of the program.
Position Details:
Title: Extended Day/After-School Programs Supervisor
Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Reports to: Head of School
Schedule: Part-Time; Monday to Friday, 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm (Subject to change)
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university preferred
  • Previous experience in childcare, recreation, education or similar setting preferred
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and other school information systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to multitask and work independently or in a team environment
  • DSS certification preferred (We can start the certification process for you)

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Greeting visitors, parents, students, and staff professionally and warmly
  • Answering and routing phone calls and taking messages
  • Keeping an organized and welcoming reception and program environment
  • Overseeing the safety, well-being and behavior of students in the Extended Day program
  • Supervising Extended Day staff, arranging coverage and adhering to safety protocols
  • Developing engaging activities, arts and crafts, and games for the students
  • Maintaining sign-in and sign-out logs, tracking attendance of students after-school hours
