Afterschool programs are typically offered by schools, community centers, or nonprofit organizations and can play a crucial role in helping working families by providing supervision and enrichment for their children.

Staff in afterschool programs often navigate challenges such as managing diverse student needs, maintaining engagement during after-school hours, and addressing behavioral issues. Effective strategies include developing structured yet flexible activity plans, fostering positive relationships with students, and collaborating closely with school-day teachers and parents to support each child.
