Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting and supporting quality initiatives at the Chicago Heights facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust and maintain all electrical and electronic equipment in a steel mill environment.
  2. Experience and Capable of working with 230/460/600 volt AC & 250 DC mill controls and overhead cranes.
  3. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and perform work from schematics, technical specifications, drawings and sketches. Experience with PLC systems and variable frequency drives (VFD) a plus.
  4. Shift work, weekends, call-outs and overtime a must.
  5. Perform any and all other duties as directed by supervisor or management representative within safety guidelines.
  6. Performs work in accordance with the defined Quality system and share responsibility for Quality.

The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Completion of electrician course, Associate Degree, or equivalent experience is required. At least 3- 5 years of hands-on commercial or industrial electrical experience.

Skills Required: Ability to troubleshoot controls and electrical systems with amp meters, voltmeters, tracers, and recording devices. Complete daily work orders as assigned and update team with daily work reports outlining progress and new issues.
