Job description


About This Role

The After School Teacher is responsible for picking up kids from school and delivering them to Creative Image Learning Center on a daily basis. The program and staff is responsible for providing the children with a safe and healthy learning environment. Teachers will assist in providing a well-run, goal directed, and professional program that supports the kids personal growth.


What You'll Do
  • Ensuring curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices are followed
  • Execute Creative Curriculum and program activities
  • Assist with homework or other educational activities
  • Follow all traffic safety laws and follow the specific requirements for each schools pickup process.
  • Follow LOOK AGAIN from BFTS, ensure that no child is left on bus during after school pickups as well as field trips
  • Must be flexible, able to float throughout the day and work with after school kids during evening

Requirements

Successful After School Teachers must stay current with BFTS state regulations. Have good written and verbal communication skills. Responsible for following daily lesson plans and provide guidance and homework assistance for elementary school aged children as well as providing supplemental material where appropriate.


Credentials and Experience:

  • One year experience teaching or management in licensed childcare facility
  • Valid driver's license with safe driving record
  • Health and Safety Training
  • Satisfactory BFTS Background Check

Other Characteristics:

Hold or be willing to attain a current age appropriate CPR/First Aid Certification. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds as needed in daily activities and emergency situations. Teachers must be willing to interact with and oversee the children at indoor and outdoor activities as the program requires.
