JOB SUMMARY

MUST BE AN ARCTIC SLOPE REGIONAL CORPORATION SHAREHOLDER

The Nutaaq is responsible for assisting journey-level trade workers such in all phases of work associated with a particular trade area. This position works under direct supervision of the journey-level trade worker and performs a variety of tasks to gain experience and improve technical understanding and skills in the use of trade tools and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist the journey-level trade worker with the general trade and craft areas including troubleshooting, repairs, installation, and construction tasks.
  • Follow guidelines, handbooks, state and federal codes, and verbal and written instructions and directions to perform the assigned tasks.
  • Perform skilled trade work commensurate with years of experience and training.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment relevant to selected trade.
  • Move, load, and carry materials and equipment as required.
  • Maintain tools and equipment inventory.
  • Prepare routine reports and safety audits.
  • Maintain monthly hour logs in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • All successful applicants will be required to sign a release of information form.
  • Must be an ASRC shareholder to be qualified for this position. Verification and/or documentation may be required. 
  • High School Diploma/GED required. 
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.   Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:

  • Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.

  • Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
  • Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam.
  • Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
