What are Adventists?

Adventists are members of a Christian denomination known as the Seventh-day Adventist Church. They are characterized by their belief in the imminent second coming (or advent) of Jesus Christ and their observance of Saturday, the seventh day of the week, as the Sabbath. Adventists emphasize healthy living, education, and humanitarian service, and they operate a global network of schools, hospitals, and relief agencies. Their beliefs are rooted in the Bible, and they are known for their distinctive emphasis on prophecy and end-time events.

Adventist chaplains in healthcare environments often navigate the challenge of providing spiritual care to patients and families from diverse religious backgrounds while upholding Adventist values. They must balance sensitivity to different beliefs with offering faith-based support, often during emotionally intense situations.
