Job description

The Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding property assets and ensuring the casino environment is safe and secure for patrons and employees. Duties include completing reports and inspecting buildings and equipment while securing all access points. Provides superior guest services to guests of our casino.

Starting wage is $23.88/hr, increasing to $24.43/hr upon successful completion of 90-day orientation period. All full-time positions include stellar 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental and Vision benefits. 

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Experience & Requirements:

  • Prior security experience is required
  • Able to learn and follow detailed security manual and procedures
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills
  • Basic report-writing skills required
  • Gaming experience preferred
  • Additional education or related experience may substitute for the minimum requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be in excellent physical condition
  • The ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis
  • Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours
  • Work in all types of weather conditions
  • Must be able to tolerate a crowded, smoke filled environment

Competencies:

This role requires a strong understanding of casino policies, fire inspection protocols, security best practices, and tribal-state compact regulations. Key skills include problem-solving, radio communication, report writing, crowd management, customer service, and keen observation. The ideal candidate can effectively communicate, handle high-stress situations, maintain control during conflicts, and document incidents accurately. Additionally, they must be able to conduct inspections, follow directives, multitask efficiently, uphold confidentiality, and consistently demonstrate professionalism and sound judgment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays

All applicants must obtain a Class III A license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions. However, the use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant unless the position requires driving a company vehicle.
