Memory Care Director - Avita Program Job Summary
The Memory Care Director will orchestrate engagements that foster purpose, spark joy, create community, and enhance the well-being of all our residents. This position will lead a team of associates, provide ongoing training and be the onsite expert for all things memory care. This position plays a key role in the community's relationship with families and care partners to make a real difference in our residents' lives. This position is full-time and will require some weekends.
Responsibilities:
  • Supports the development and oversight of service plans unique to each resident to ensure their overall wellness.
  • Assist the RCD with the implementation of the SAMM medication management program.
  • Collaborate and maintain routine communication with families and community agencies.
  • Role model care techniques to staff and educate as needed.
  • Develop and facilitate engagement opportunities that maximize resident participation.
  • Conduct lifestyle interviews.
  • Develop monthly newsletter and calendar relevant to resident population.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent experience with the aging process and/or disability issues.
  • Previous experience working with memory impaired elderly in a paid or volunteer position.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the geriatric field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials and the public.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in an environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration.
  • Valid driver's license.
